VILLAGE DAY 1997

Introduction

Effingham’s Village Day in 1997 took place on Sunday June 8th.

Planning

The day was planned and organized once again by the Village Day Committee under the Chairmanship of Gill Walker (for whom this would be the last such Village Day). We have the Minutes of six of their meetings about this event, held in April 1996 and in January, March, April and May 1997 and (looking back on the event) July 1997.

We have no pictures of this Village Day nor a copy of its Programme; however, the above Minutes (pdf5) of the May meeting include a very detailed list of the planned stalls and arena displays.
