LIVES – ROBERT FISH (SENIOR)

Robert Fish (Senior) was a substantially wealthy farmer and land owner in Effingham in the 19th century. Born in Cobham in about 1754 he married when aged nearly 30 and settled at first in Great Bookham, moving in his late 30s to Effingham where he then resided for over half a century until his death. During that period he acquired much property there and also in the Bookhams and in Send. In this article we set out all we know of his family and his property dealings.
