Andrea Basil Malandrinos was one of the several distinguished actors who took up residence in Effingham in the first half of the twentieth century. His performing in theatre, film and television was very extensive and varied, frequently alongside actors of international fame and always receiving excellent reviews. We are fortunate in being able to illustrate this article with many excellent photographs showing him in action.
In 1936 Andrea played the role of restaurant head waiter Giuseppe in the British-made film “The Amazing Quest of Ernest Bliss” starring Cary Grant. The clip below covers the small part in which Andrea appears and provides a good example of his command of Italian.
